Flowers!  Flowers have been given to the greater glory of God by Paul & Shann Lowe on the occasion of their 25th Wedding anniversary celebrated last Tuesday, Feb. 7th and the birthday of their son Wayne tomorrow.

We invite members to contribute to the beautification of our church for the Sunday Masses by choosing a Sunday that has special meaning to them. Often, more than one person finds a certain date important; so flowers may be given in more than one name on any given Sunday. Celebrate a variety of moments: “In Memory of” a loved one, “In Celebration of” a marriage, birth, baptism or other special event, or “In Honor of” someone special. Our goal is to have a bulletin listing each week celebrating an event in the lives of our parish families. Members can contribute any amount they are led to give by the Holy Spirit.  Please note that there are two Sundays left for flowers to be placed on the altars as flowers are not placed on the altars during the liturgical seasons of Lent and Advent.

Unless otherwise noted, altar flowers are removed from the altar on Monday mornings and taken to a member who is sick or confined to home. This is an extension ministry of the St. Matthew's Pastoral Care committee.

We thank Peggy Francis for sponsoring the bulletin today as she gives thanks to Almighty God on the occasion of her birthday today.  Thanks also to Paul & Shann Lowe who are sponsoring the bulletin today in thanksgiving for their wedding anniversary and Wayne’s birthday.

Happy belated birthday wishes to Samuel Charles Bethel whose birthday was on Wednesday, February 8th.

Let us Pray:  All powerful and ever-living God, the lasting health of all who believe in you, hear us as we ask your loving help for the sick; restore their health, that they may again offer joyful thanks in your Church.  Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your  Son, who lives and reigns with you the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.   Amen.

Note!  We believe that prayers should be offered for all people all the time.  We also believe that our God answers our prayers, in one way or another. To that end, we would appreciate it if persons who have asked for names to be placed on the above list would indicate to us if our prayers for healing have been answered, so that the names can be appropriately removed.

When entering the hospital or if you are sick at home for any length of time, please let your Clergy know.  Remember it is your responsibility to notify your parish Priests on such occasions.  You can only be ministered to, when and if it is known that you are not well.  The Clergy should also be notified when you are leaving the hospital.  Thanks for your kind co-operation.

COMMUNION TO THE SICK!  The Clergy wishes to make the Sacrament available to those who because of sickness or infirmity are unable to attend public celebrations of the Eucharist.  If you are sick and/or confined (or if you know someone who is) and wish to receive Holy Communion at home, Please inform the Clergy as soon as possible

Always remember to pray for the repose of the souls of the Faithful Departed. Pray for those who have died recently, those whose  anniversaries of burial occur this week, for those buried in our church’s yard, and for those who for whatever reason have no one to remember them with love in prayer.

The parish extends condolences and assurance of our prayers to all who are grieving the loss of loved ones and those whose memories are called to mind at this time.
